Very friendly service, good sized portions and delicious! We definitely will return. I had some of the best onion rings and chicken fried steak. Onion rings were a half order and it was mire than enough to share.

The best Chicken Fried steak I've had in a long time! Crispy batter and SUPER tender meat!! Love the peppered cream gravy. I stopped it off with a massive piece of chocolate pie. I arrived 15 minutes before they closed and they all welcomed me and were so nice and no rush. It is definitely nothing fancy on the outside or inside, you might see it and keep driving but the good comfort food and great staff make it a must.

A San Antonio dining institution since 1938, we enjoyed awesome chicken fried steaks and appetizers. Same friendly service. Reminds me of the good old days when hospitality, rolls and a salad came with each plate. Delicious.

Yes, they do now. They used to be cash only.

The restaurant is on northside about a 30 minute drive from Lackland AFB. Well worth the trip.
